The restaurant, billed as a French/Mediterranean/American restaurant, is, as the name implies, in the heart of downtown Albertville, AL, on Main Street. For those who are unfamiliar with Albertville, the city is situated on top of Sand Mountain in north-eastern Alabama. It is known as the Fire Hydrant Capital of the World because the Mueller Company, located in Albertville, is North America's largest, and only full-line, supplier of potable water distribution products. Check it out...there is a very good chance the fire hydrants in your home town were made in Albertville, Alabama. For those of you who might wonder about the term "potable", please check in with my friend, Allison B. She has the news you need to know about potable water! It's an inside joke, but I know she will share it with you!
Back to Parker's TWO trips to Sebastien's on Main...
The first night, Parker and Lu invited our former colleague, the other Sherri, sometimes known as Berger, to join them on their visit to Sebastien's. Here are the yummy looking entrees the threesome enjoyed.
Berger ordered Teddy's baked chicken breast with a pecan crust, smothered in a creamy ranch sauce. The chicken was served with beautiful asparagus and some fresh looking greens.
Parker selected fried shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and served with steamed broccoli.
Lu chose blackened crab cakes with asparagus spears and rice. I can only guess that she did not touch the remoulade sauce that accompanied the crab cakes. Too much mayonnaise! I swear that girl is missing out on some tasty stuff!
For dessert, the three traitors indulged in a decadent chocolate turtle cake. Take a look!
The trio said the food was plentiful and delicious!
For Parker's second foray into the tasty world of Sebastien's, a different set of former colleagues joined her. Our friends, Merri and Tubby (Tubby is another Lu, so she has to have a nickname...lots of duplicate names around here!), just could not resist when they heard how yummy the Sebastien's food had been, so they picked Parker up and checked it out for themselves. The reports were the same...Ahhh-mazing!
This group started out with an appetizer of battered and fried green beans. Woah! Those look so good. They were accompanied by a creamy, spicy remoulade sauce and homemade ranch dressing.
They also enjoyed some beautiful cocktails with some interesting names. Merri had a Blueberry Martini that she proclaimed the best she had ever had. Tubby enjoyed a Dreamsicle Martini made with vodka, triple sec, orange juice and half and half. If that doesn't bring you back to your childhood, I'm not sure what would! Sherri, ever the trailblazer, won the prize, however. She had a glass of Liquid Marijuana! Now before you call the law, this is not the Colorado version...no herbage here. Her drink was made with Captain Morgan's spiced rum, Blue Curacao liqueur, Malibu coconut rum, pineapple juice and sweet and sour mix. Sounds pretty tasty!
As far as entrees are concerned, the three were not as original. They all picked the same one! Each one had tilapia pan seared with a rich and creamy sour cream and parmesan cheese sauce.
As far as sides were concerned, Merri opted for broccoli and sweet potato fries. She said the fries were crunchy on the outside and sweet and smooth on the inside.
Parker, decided to go with a green salad and the sweet potato fries.
Tubby settled on some fresh asparagus and sweet potato fries to accompany her fish.
Everyone of them took a doggy bag home with them, so portions were generous.
I refuse to be left out next time! Just writing about all these delectable dishes has made my stomach growl! Get ready, Parker...three's a charm!!
